Pilgrim VR: Hajj and Umrah

Pilgrim VR is a groundbreaking virtual reality experience developed by Siraj Studios in collaboration with the Center of Islam in the Contemporary World at Shenandoah University. An innovative educational immersive VR experience that offers and immersive training for Hajj and Umrah rituals. Users can explore sacred sites, learn, and train interactively at their own pace. Pilgrim VR offers two main features: Free Roaming Mode and Training Mode.

In Free Roaming Mode, users can navigate key landmarks such as the Holy Mosque, the Kaaba, the Sa’i area, Mount Arafat, Muzdalifah, Al-Mash’ar Al-Haram Mosque, and Mina.

Training Mode provides a step-by-step interactive curriculum designed specifically for Hajj and Umrah, allowing users to practice and perfect their rituals.

Integrated production

Pilgrim VR exemplifies the integrated production approach at Siraj Studios.

We began with extensive research to collect accurate religious information, followed by crafting a detailed script that guides users through an immersive learning journey.

Our design team developed highly detailed 3D environments of the sacred sites, while professional audio recordings enhanced the overall experience. Finally, our programming team used cutting-edge VR technologies to ensure seamless interaction and engagement, coupled with rigorous testing and improvements to ensure a high-quality product.

The project stood out for its integrated stages, starting from research and writing, through design and programming, and ending with testing and improvements. This ensured a rich and impactful virtual reality experience, reflecting our vision of delivering innovative, high-quality content.
